Beads, sequins, copper leaf, thread, wool fabric, PVA glue, wooden box frame.
Building on images of rusted surfaces taken with a digital microscope, traditional beading and embroidery methods have been employed to create precious, delicate works with a jewel like quality. Iridescent sequins and faceted beads cause the pieces to glitter and shimmer as you move around them. I hope to inspire the viewer to see the beauty in ruin, and change their view from broken and discarded items, to precious moments captured in time.
