Charlie uses textiles, sculpture, embroidery, and digital media to explore themes of the uncanny, the curious, personal placement, and play. They are inspired by the works of Ernesto Neto, Annalisa Bollini, Guillermo del Toro, and Adam James, and believe that the main driving force behind the work that they create is a desire to playfully explore, communicate, and interpret the seen and unseen worlds around themselves in a sustainability conscious way.

Aside from their university exhibitions Charlie's work has been used to raise funds for a number of causes, notably Dissident Whispers roleplay anthology to raise funds for bail bonds during the Black Life Matters riots in America.

Charlie currently works as a jewellery maker, enjoys travelling to new countries, and spending time with their loving partner, and their dog Murphy.

CV

A multidisciplinary fine artist who primarily uses textiles, poetry, sculptures, and installations. I explore themes of catharsis, emotional release, and human relationships with the natural world using my background in Chemistry and scientific enquiry to create biomorphic forms intended to invoke wonder and the sublime. I am a conscientious individual that uses curiosity to blur the boundaries of art and science to create concepts and ideas that bring the beauty of the natural world into the domestic sphere using traditional textile craft techniques.
