Crochet-I is a collection of AI generated crochet patterns and images, created by ChatGPT and Dall-E 2 by the artist. Intended as a critique of AI, the generated patterns were worked by the artist to interesting results. While the AI could understand what the animals are, it lacked the context to relate the size of body parts to each other. Similarly, the advanced technology struggled to depict complex pictures of traditional crafts. While technology can replicate and steal intellectual property, it lacks the human touch that brings these creations to life.
